February 20, 2025 Thursday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:31 to 2:35 pm and there were three seals seen during that time.
Initially directly down from the 3BS was an Unknown Adult among the waterfront rocks. The U/A then moved a short distance in the Makapuu direction and settled there. That is when Marilyn realized there was a second seal nearby behind the waterfront rocks.
The U/A was adult size, medium gray belly, unsure about tags.
The second seal is labeled as an Unknown Sub-adult: sub-adult size, two red tags, light ventral but unable to determine its sex because of the rocks. The U/S moved up the beach for a while and the returned to rest behind the rocks.
Out on the channel at RRB was RK24 Bruno: adult size, light male belly and scar on the lower lip, no info on tags.

Team R&B had a good seal day. Their first find was the lovely Miss Kala RH76. They spotted her coming in on the rocks where she settled for the day.

Their next find brought them much joy. They saw a seal hauling up and they were delighted to see it was RK72 Kekoa Alii. They haven't seen him for a while so seeing him looking healthy and good body condition
They hung around for a bit looking, got to see some dolphins. They spotted a seal swimming by and they watched to see RM31 Kai hauling up by Kekoa Alii.

Team R&B decided to check in at plains. They arrived and found
RL12 Aukai was on shore in a zone. Once again the lifeguards come through providing Aukai a safe spot to rest comfortably.

From there they decided to head over to Nimitz and found one seal resting on reef.  This spot use to be popular with so many of our beloved seals, Kermit, Irma, Benny, R018, so many memories.
Today the seal that was resting on the reef was R407 Kawika.

They made one last stop at Makaha where they watched some of the surfers. They noted the beach is really eroded.  At one point they thought there was a seal on shore, but it turned out to be a beautiful turtle resting.
