8/15/2017 Monk Seal Dailies:

Today's dailies are brought to you by Team Billand and thank goodness for their dedication and loyalty to checking up on these critters.

Team Billand found RH32 Ka'ale at Kahe up on the rocks moving higher up due to the surf. He was on his own in the morning.  On a re-check in the afternoon they found RN14 had joined him on the rocks to the right. Both seals look good, no signs of hooks, no signs of trailing lines.

Day 3 of the mystery seal foraging at Campbells. They were unable read the red tags, but noted the seal as an adult, clean coat and doing 6 to 7 minutes dives.

And that's all we have today.

Yesterday was hard to find any seals...we done alot of driving from beach to beach, walking to sites and not finding nothing.

We even waited with others for RN14, like over an hour and a half, he never came in so we left disappointed by 7:45am. I bet he must have come in RIGHT AS WE MADE IT OUT of koolina.

Couldnt find Pohaku nor Benny any where...We know she is trying to DUMP Benny's Butt.

Did a westerly drive out to Yoks too, still no seals. Amazing...where do they go????

Soon Pohaku will molt, hope we find her to protect her then...hope she dont go DEPOTS.

As for the Mysterious Seal, we spend alot of time, getting the id...but with the big waves, glare of the sun, its really hard. I aint giving in....we almost got a tag shot twice ... just it was both ... BLURRED.

Between the hot sun and glare...makes searching tough.

Today is SUPER TIDE DAY...we'll see if the seals come up on shore this morning...

Prayers to RJ58...and her life in a REMOTE area..hope she finds lots of SEAL BUDDS.

AND WHERE THE HECK IS ROCKY????? May she be fattening up for HER MOLT...miss ya girl. Hope to find ya soon!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi. I'm new to this! Just had our very first sightings yesterday and this morning around 7am in Ewa Beach, by the empty lot on Pohakapuna St.
Maybe Benny & Pohaku?

Hi Emily, glad you saw the seal out there. Had we known we would have gone to make ID for you.

It might have been ROCKY..who likes this area in Ewa .

Maybe tomorrow...god bless you, thanks for letting us know. Now we kind of know where to search.

I saw yellow tape down by park with yellow signs...but no seal. It may have left by time we got there.

Take care EMILY.
