4/30/2015 DB's Dailies: Sadie&PO2, RIP&UF@RI, Rocky@RR, La'akea,Ola &UU@Turtle Bay, Right Spot@Chun's, RI37@Hauula, Benny@PC, RW02@Makaha
Both Gayle & I combed the quadrant today, and the Rabbit Island cast was the only find . There was nobody visible on my 0658 check, however when I got back to Makai Pier at 0830 I found Sadie&PO2 doing a feed at the left end of the beach,on D#15. They had no doubt been out on a swim session on my first look. They would do 2 additions water sessions. 0933 - 1020, and 1227-1302.
Also at 0830 , to my surprise I found RIP (RR70) fronting 1BS. When he showed up at Diamond Head yesterday, I assumed he was headed back west. Wrong...............again !! He remained all day.
The 3rd animal I found at 0830 proved to be a problem. It took a full day of observations just to see a female belly, which only allows me to call it an U/F. Based on the general look, and condition of the animal, R5AY would have to be at the top of my “possibles”, but ???????? The abdomen was slack, and the coat a uniform algae green. At 8/10th of a mile , given the viewing conditions, I just could not confirm an ID... I hate having Unknowns !!!!
At 0944 Team Billand reported Rocky (RH58) on the Reef Runway check.
At 1227 a Dana call brought lots of news. La’akea (RK82)& little sister Ola (RG03) were together at the birth beach, and there was a yet to be identified UU on the hotel beach, at Turtle Bay.
She also advised of an animal at Chun’s, which would prove to be Right Spot (R016), and animal reported at Hauula was confirmed as RI37, but Don.
Another Dana call at 1241 brought word that Benny (RE74) was at Paradise Cove.
The Billands called at 1312 to advise that volunteer, Debbie , had called them to advise that “N62".... RW02 was at Makaha Beach.

4/29/2015 DB's Dailies: Sadie,PO2&Kainoa@RI, Kekoa@SC, Kaiwi@BF, RIP@DH, RL42&Luana@KP, Ola&La'akea@TB
I was batting zero on my rounds until I got to Spitting Cave. There I found Kekoa (RK72) doing 9 to 12 minute dives. It would take awhile but I finally got his right face scar, and a K73 tag.
At 0911 I found Kaiwi (RK96), snoozin’ at Buster Flats, Lanai Lookout. She was still there on the afternoon check.
When I got back to Makai Pier at 0945 for my 2nd look, I found Sadie&PO2 doing a feed ,40 ft left of 1BS on Rabbit Island. They would do a second swim session from 1058 till 1140.
On a pan at 1134 I found Kainoa (RN04) just hauling out fronting Right Greenery, on RI.
Colleen Heyer checked in at 0850 with the report of RIP (RR70) near the bunker at her end of Diamond Head. Both Colleen and Canadian posse people, Todd & Darlene advised that he was still there in the early afternoon, but Colleen advised that he was gone at 1532.
A DanaTxt at 1043 brought the news of RL42 & RN58 (Luana) together at Ka’ena Point, per E. Gardner.
Diane Gabriel spent the day with Ola (RG03) & La'akea (RK82) at Turtle Bay. Ola spent the day investigation more junk, but when she hauled out she joined La'akea for a snooze.
The Billands responded to a call from KoOlina Marina personnel about a “swimming head” in the Marina, but the Billands found nobody. They had one of those rare “skunked” days.

4/28/2015 DB's Dailies: Sadie&PO2(D#13),Kainoa@RI, DB, RIP&Kekoa@Spitting Cave, Kaiwi@Lanai Lookout,Gayle M., Benny@Paradise Cove, Team Billand, Kerby@Kauai, Val Bloy
On my first look at Rabbit Island at 0647 I found Sadie&PO2(RB12), 40 ft left of 1BS. When I got back at 0812 they were down near the water line, and from 0834 til 0847 the did a swim session. They would do another from 1036 til 1116.
Also at 0812 I also found Kainoa (RN04), 60 ft right of 3BS.
Gayle called at 0853 with the report of what would prove to be RIP (RR70), and what was initially an U/U. When Gayles photos came in, it would prove to be Kekoa (RK72). ID was by his right face scar.
Team Billand reported Benny (RE74) at Paradise Cove at 0901. Thank you Nancy for the help.
Canadian posse members, Todd & Darlene called from their 9th floor, Gold Coast Condo in Waikiki at 1000 to advise that they had seen 2 animals swimming to the west at Kaimana Beach. The larger of the two tried to haul out by the adoring hordes would not allow it. Seconds after Darlene’s call I got a call from Ocean Safety (Lifeguards) reporting a single animal hauled out to the small piece of sand on the Aquarium side of the Natatorium, but called back almost immediately to advise that the animal was back in the water and swimming to the west. There was no further word on either animal.
My pal Val called at 1415 to advise that she was in the company of Kerby (RW08) on Kauai. She pronounced him happy & well. This Rabbit Island boy has covered alotta’ ground in his young life !
