December 24, 2025 Wednesday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Team R&B 💕
I have a correction from yesterday's post in that I mentioned RG32 was ID'd by his tags. He does not have tags and I got him mixed up with something else.

Team R&B arrived at pokai and their friend was at the site, calling for them to come over by them.
They spotted two seals foraging. They watched closely and were excited to see a small male RU40 Wai foraging with Nalu R3CX.  Nalu followed him all over the area, close to the rocks, to the jetty and back. It was an awesome site.

Heading over to check out the outfall area, they once again spotted multiple seals. They tried to followone seal at a time to determine their ID, but it got crazy especially with so many people in the water.
The first seals they saw; a sub-adult female, RL08, and RL12 Aukai who was with RG32. Lastly they were able to ID Lei Ola RH48. BUT.... omg look at all the people and the seals were right next to them. Scary for sure, but I am sure the snorkelers were in heaven.

Wishing all of you a very Merry Christmas!

December 23, 2025 Tuesday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Team R&B💕 and posse pal Kathy O.

I received an email from Kathy today noting that R427 may have returned to Iroquois Point. It looks like he still has some old fur on his flippers, leftover from his molting last week. Thankfully he is in a different location further away from the crowds.

Team R&B first stop at pokai they were surprised to find RG28 Lefty alone in the zen area. Which made they wonder where was Kala?
They did see R3CX Nalu foraging. He was alone as usual filling his belly. At one point they thought there was another seal but they didn't see any signs of it again.

Checking out Kahe they spotted a seal with applied bleach N32. Turns out it is RG32, on the other side of his body it looked like there might be another bleach N80. They confirmed RG32 by seeing his tags.
Out by the outfall area there was a party going on with so many seal out there. Team R&B took over 450 photos they were able to ID only a couple of the seals. There was RH48 Lei Ola, and RL08. Aukai RL12 was seen and she did her best to stay away from all the
insanity.  They also ID'd RP28 Wakea by his start burst scar.  They saw an Unknown Female fighting with another seal. Female has green snout with red tags. One of their photos shows four seals chasing each other.

Going back to Kahe there was a big male seal on the rocks. It was partially in a small pond, and they were able to big boy RH32 Kaale.
Then they saw a seal foraging at the pavilion where a lot of the divers go out. The seal had a clean coat, and they believe it was RM31 Kai.
He was going after something in the shallows. He was blowing bubble by the rocks then rose to the surface. The snorkelers were close by watching him RM31 are whatever it was and left the area and header towards the outfall.

Lastly Team R&B watched from afar as a young seal arrived at electric beach trying to haul out. There were lots of tourist with kids and they got too close to the seal. The seal barked at a little boy.  One would think they would back off. One lady was brace enough to told all the people to move back and give the seal some space.

December 22, 2025 Monday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Team R&B💕

They started their day at pokai and were very happy to see Miss Kala RH76. She was alone resting up on her zen spot.
They spotted R3CX Nalu way out at foraging. They watched but lost sight of him, so they waited around. Suddenly he hauled up on the rocks. He fooled them today, by hauling out early. There were lots of people around, some school kids came by, but all was good. The school kids did some beach clean-up.

Over at Kahe they were pleased to see right there on the rocks a seal. He even cooperated by doing aflipper flex to show off his tag. It was RM31 Kai looking just fine and healthy.
Further to the right was R617. He was alone and in a deep snooze. They watched but he barely moved at all.

At the outfall was another day of multiple seals foraging. It was difficult to get all their IDs.  They did ID RH48  Lei Ola and RL08.
The other two were reported as unknowns. One looked young and the other looked more like an adult.

To end their day they had noticed a yacht in one spot for a long time. So they focused on the boat and area and that she blows! The whales putting on a fantastic show.
