Melody got word this morning there was a seal at one of the west side beaches. She decided to check it out and when she arrived the seal was in a zone that was set up by the lifeguards. The beach was full of people so it was appreciated they had put up a zone. Melody tried to get an ID on the seal, knowing it was a female but she wasn't being so cooperative. By process of elimination and a couple of markers she thought it was Rocky. She called the hotline to report and they let her know they already had it logged as Rocky. Melody's friend Sandra met up with her at the beach a few hours later. After a bit they saw the critter was moving and her flippers had tags and immediately ruled out Rocky. They were able to get the tag was 1KM with is the 3 year old Kauai girl 1KN. Melody called the hotline so they could correct the log. Nice way to spent Aloha Friday.
Melody also sent a video of Kalani RN14 and Lefty RG28 playing in the surf. It's always nice to see
Team Billand found Ka'ale RH32 and Kalani RN14 playing together at the outfall. They were going at it for the longest time until Kalani departed and headed for tracks, hauled out and hauled out alone. They went over to check and Lefty RG28 came in. The two boys were playing along the shoreline. When they hauled out they looked like "shake and bake" all sandy.
They found RL42 at another west side location by the homes on the shore all alone.
At the bay was RN44 in his usual spot. Nalu R3CX was also at the bay on the rocks but away from RN44.
At another westside location they found the lovely Lei Ola RH48 on lower rocks sleeping alone. And Mr, Kekoa RK72 was on top rocks alone.
Team Billand did one last check at Tracks and they found the three boys, Kaale, Lefty and Kalani hauled out on shore snoozing.
