08/05/2020 Wednesday Act-With-Care Monk Seal Dailies

Today's dailies are brought to you by Team Billand and Lesley. Lesley's Ka'ena update is part two of the dailies.

Team Billand found the brothers RG28 Lefty and RF28 Paakea at a west side beach.
Lefty was at seal inlet, Paakea was on waterfront rocks to the right.

Then little RL70 the yearling female from Molokai (Leina) was on waterfront rocks to the left of RF28.

RL20 Kalua came from the right looked around spotted Paakea. He cautiously watched then hauled out. Paakea RF28 dived in the shallows with him, they had a few words. Kalua climbed up on water front rocks to get away, and Paakea followed.
They both settled down for a nap.
Meanwhile their first time visitor RL70 was very interested in what the boys were doing. She stretched her neck out to see what was going on. LOL Seal rubber necking at its best.

At another west side location they found a seal that was 99% molted with the exception of a little fur left on hind flippers. It was Nalu R3CX was on shore on the sand resting alone. They were surprised to see him molted. The last time they saw him was on the 26th.

Just before 1 they found Ka'ale RH32 on the rocks alone at a west side beach different than his usual haul out. This was on their way to Ka'ena West. On their return he was gone.

At Ka'ena West they found a very messy RL42 Leia in the midst of her molt. Her under belly is nearly done and back is peeling. She was still there when they returned.  Unfortunately so were some tourist.

N4 Kai was spotted hiding out from line of sight. He was comfy on his rock alone. The ways were washing up to him, making him wobble a bit. He looks good and quite sweet and innocent.
