4/20/2016 DB's Dailies: Kolohe,Kea,Kainoa&RG32@Rabbit Island, Kekoa&RIP@Maili Point, Pohaku@CIP, RK36@Turtle Bay, R5AY@Hauula

On my 2nd look at Rabbit Island at 0819 I found what would prove to be Kolohe (RW22) in the Morning Glory, 50 ft right of 3BS. It was good to have the boy back home again after his latest west side jaunt.

At 0928 Kea (RN46) hauled out and galumphed up to join Kolohe. A

t 0950 Kainoa (RN04) would also haul out and moved up to join Kea & Kolohe for the day.

A call from Gayle Matsuda, at 1109 brought word of her find of Buster (RV08) at China Walls. He too is back from a west side adventure.

On a pan at 1150, I found RG32 just hauling out from Seal Rock Inlet on RI.

At 0924 Team Billand reported Kekoa (RK72)&RIP (RR70) together at Maili Point.

At 1152 they found Pohaku (RO28) foraging off shore of Campbell Industrial Park.

A photo from Dr. Tom at Turtle Bay, at 1239 confirmed RK36 once again near Right Spot’s Spot TB.

A Tammy T text at 1445 brought word that she was in the company of Don Porter and R5AY at Hauula. Don had apparently gotten the call at 0500.

Last but no least, a Happy 8th Birthday shout to Kerby (RW08) ! Many, maybe even most of you don’t even recognize the name. Kerby is one of the sons of Ewa Girl, born on this day in 08 at Rabbit Island. A 5 months old he followed Benny to Ka’ena Point, and remained in that quadrant quite a while, though he did revisit RI on two occasions. In July of 2014 he moved to Kauai, and was thought to be there until he was documented on Molokai on 7-29-15. Interestingly enough the Molokai shots of him show him with little RG32, who has since become a Rabbit Island regular. In fact he was there today. I’m thinkin’ Kerby told him about the place, and may well have brought him here. Kerby was the first pup I ever saw.... he was less than 24 hours old, and even though I was viewing him through a scope... he was still the cutest thing I had ever seen.
