Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:03 to 2:21 pm and there were eight seals seen during that time.
Out on the rock flats on the Lanikai side of LPB was Weaner Unknown 1: weaner size, no ingo on sex or tags. Marilyn thinks WU1 was the on that hauled out near RH76 and PO10 on LPB shortly before she left for the day.
RH76 Kala and her pup PO10 were near the LPB channel when Marilyn first arrived. Later they moved up the beach with the pup partially hidden behind mom. Then a weaner hauled out near them and the pup tried crawling over
mom.
mom.
On the 3BS of the Middle Cliff was Weaner Unknown 2: weaner size, at least two red tags, light belly, sex unknown.
About 40 feet on the Middle Cliff side of 3BS was an Adult Female: adult size, female belly about 80% molted with the ventral completely molted and the dorsal about 30% molted. This AF entered the water and disappeared.
At 12:34 pm Marilyn realized that Weaner Unknown 3 had moved up from behind the waterfront rocks down from the 3BS: weaner size, three tags undetermined sex.
Between the 3BS and SRI was a Sub-adult Male: sub0adult size, male belly old coat with lots of green and two red tags
At 1:55 pm Marilyn noticed than a Unknown Unknown hauled out between the SRI and RRB. This might be the AF that disappeared earlier. The UU had at least one tag.
Near the RRB channel was a Juvenile Female: small juvenile size, old coat with lots of green, female belly and two tags. Marilyn is reasonably sure she's the same JF that she saw in that location on Wednesday.
Team R&B only had one sighting today at the outfall. There were two seals fighting in the water. One is very green with two red tags, the other was larger with one red tag. They were able to ID RP28 Wakea. A friend of theirs happened to be out in the area and saw both tags showing and hot the number. Team R&B couldn't come up with an ID for the larger greener seal with one tag.
Team R&B were treated to the dolphins putting on a show. They were jumping and in a large group. One thing that noted is their Ohana, they stick together all the time and disappear at the same time.
