Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:01 to 1:54 pm and there were seven seals seen during that time.
Out on the rock flats on the Lanikai side of LPB were two seals:
Sub-adult Male: sub-adult to adult size, light male belly, no info on tags.
Both of these seals were last seen at 12:56 pm.
RH76 Kala and PO13 had finally moved and were located at the mouth of the LPB channel. PO13 nursed and then moved behind mom. At 1:40 om mom and pup entered the LPB channel and were not seen again. This is the first time Marilyn has seen them go into to the water for a swim.
Down from the 1BS was a Weaner Male: small weaner size, light male belly and at least two red tags.
At 12:42 pm Weaner Unknown 2 hauled out among waterfront rocks between 1BS and 2BS: weaner size, at least two red tags, sex unknown.
A Weaner Female hauled out near shore down from the 3BS. She stayed there for a while and then disappeared and showed up near SRI channel: weaner to juvenile size, light female belly and at least two red tags. She moved up onto the beach for a while and later moved down the SRI channel and disappeared.
Team R&B arrived at the pup site to find Momma Rocky and PO11 on shore sleeping, without any water nearby. (low low tide).
There were several feeds, slept again and after four hours of waiting and waiting Mom woke up, looked towards the water coming up over the rocks. She stopped partially in the water and PO11 came along side her for another feed.
At 1:06 pm Mom and Pup came charging over to the right in the keiki pond. PO11 was so vocal really having a lot to say. Looking at the folks on shore, Team R&B and others got them all to back up. Then Rocky headed for the rocks and out into the open ocean, PO11 followed. Very exciting the first ocean swim for PO11 who seemed quite happy. Mom vocalized to keep pup in view and pup went over to mom. At the time Team R&B couldn't see either of them, then the pup postured up and mom was by her. This went on for about 20 minutes, and then they headed towards the driftwood side. Team R&B went over and when they got there, Momma Rocky turned around and went back.
Momma Rocky called out to PO11 who landed on the rocks, getting hit by wave after wave. Rocky galumphed up to the pond, and PO11 followed. Both were safe, everyone on shore cheered.
Then PO11 was upset for some reason and was very vocal, Mom turned to her and barked in the pups face. Mom climbed on the rocks, pup followed still vocal. Mom them turned and presented, PO11 poked her snout into mom so hard like she was starving.
All settled, everyone out there today were so respectful. It was a good day for the Rocky and Pup Adventures.
