Their first sighting on the west side they saw three seals fighting in the water. It was difficult to tell who the seals were, so they hung out hoping they could get some IDs.
They think one of them with a clean coat is a pregnant female. Two had a lot of green on their coats, one was bigger than the other. One of them hauled out, left, hauled out again and left again. Finally one of them landed at electric beach. The big one and one of the green seals kept fighting and never landed.
Team R&B made their way to the pupping site later than usual as they had spent time at electric beach.
When they arrived Rocky and PO11 already hauled up on shore after a swim in a nearby pond. They saw one feeding. Then the pup left but the waves were really big today. The pup got tossed up shore, and maybe it knew no swimming for now as it made it way back to mom and went to sleep.
There were lots of photographers with big lenses out today. One lady said she worked on a boat and using this camera to take pictures for her boss. One guy was a professional photographer.
Team R&B is concerned about the holiday weekend coming up soon. We all hope there are extra hands on duty to control the crowds.
