Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:23 and 2:15 pm and there were ten seals seen during that time. On the rock flats Lanikai of LPB were RM26 Nohea and her pup PO10. Later, one of the male weaners and then the other male weaner showed up on the rock flats. Both of the male weaners (RV68 and RV70) moved closer to RM26 and her pup. Marilyn saw one feeding. She was glad to see both of the male weaners, since she had only seen one in the last few days.
About 30 feet Makapuu side of the 3BS were three seals, the same ones that were in that area yesterday. There was juvenile female RU38, who is larger than one would guess. Another sub-adult female nearby; she has a light female belly, not sure about tags. Near the two female was a sub-adult to small adult male with a mottled male belly and no visible tags. Marilyn thinks this might be R430, but she isn't sure.
About 50 feet closer to the SRI, on the waterline was the other weaner, female RV50. She later entered the water and Marilyn lost track of her.
Out on the rock flats near the SRI channel were two adult seals:
Adult Female was RK38 (mom of RV68): adult size, scar on her lower neck and two red tags. Nearby was an adult male who was ID'd as RK24 Bruno by applied bleach N33. HE was after RK38 and appeared to be trying to mate with her. The pair ultimately made their way down the shore clear to LPB.
Team R&B first find on the west side was the lovely Miss Kala RH76. She was coming up on the rocks, she is huge. She didn't like the crabs around her and kept whooping at them.
Next they stopped off to check in on Rocky and PO11. Most of their visit the two of them were sleeping. Then a plastic water jug with fishing gear floated up to the pup. It appeared there were lines attached to the jug some which were on the pup and Rocky at times. Pup investigated the jug right away, mouthed it, thankfully a wave took it away.
PO11 went for a swim at 3 pm and stayed in the water for 18 minutes, then back to mom. Who had been calling the pup.
Then.... a small dog appeared in the zone and walked all the way through passing mom and pup. Team R&B tried calling the dog but so many people went down big tree by bunkers. Team R&B let the volunteer know.
