May 24, 2026 Sunday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:58 to 2:36 pm and there were eight seals seen during that time.
PO3 is a weaner! When Marilyn first started viewing, she found PO3 alone on LPB. Marilyn still hasn't been able to confirm the sex of PO3. PO3 has the Allflex tag on its RRF. She didn't see the applied 3 bleach. PO3 was born six weeks ago today. MO3 was never identified, she is out mystery momma.
Near the middle of LPB was RK38 Hali'a and her pup PO4. RK38 hardly moved today, so there's not much to say about her condition. PO4 is probably a male, but the ventral is still fairly dark. Marilyn did see much snoozing and at least one nursing session.
RF34 Pua and her male pup PO5 entered the water just when Marilyn arrived. They hauled out again about 1:30 pm. They moved up shore and then they snoozed for a while before PO5 nursed. Marilyn wasn't able to see the applied 5 bleach on PO5.
When Marilyn first started viewing there were three seals near the SEI channel.
She is reasonably sure one of the seals was R7AF: sub-adult to adult size, mottled male belly, N61 applied bleach and two red tags.
Juvenile Female 1: smaller juvenile size, female belly, not sure about tags.
Juvenile Female 2: larger juvenile size, female belly, not sure about tags. JF2 disappeared about 1:25 pm and was not seen again.

Team R&B went to check Paradise Cove, hesitantly after yesterday's drama. When they got there, two seals were on shore. It was RL12 Aukai and R416 Makalii again. They looked but didn't see the unknown seal with the head wound today.
They met a couple John and Nancy who were wearing NOAA shirts, They were keeping an eye on the seals. There's a good chance RL12 and R416 spent the night.

Next they headed over to Nanakuli where they saw a seal on shore. The seal was tiny, skinny seal with lots of green on its coat. They were able to see one sandy tag U22. The seal was a female with a K3 on its butt area.  They didn't want to draw any attention to her so they didn't stay long. They checked with the posse and seem this little one is from Molokai.

They made their way to plains and saw from a distance there were signs up. So it took a little bit to find the seal but finally spotted a seal hiding in the rocks, high up. Probably due to the high surf. They watched and finally saw its tag, RT06. He's back looking thicker than the last time they saw him.
Just to add to how awesome nature is they captured a dragon fly in flight.
