July 1, 2019 (part 2 ) Lesley's Ka'ena Update from 7/1/19 and 6/29/19

Today July 1st REPORT:
This morning Diane & I went out together to do some monitoring.

RL20 "Kalua" D55 spend a long time foraging and playing on the shore line, we had a good time watching him.
In the NARS we found RO40 "Ka'ena" hauled out at the end of the Runway.
On the outer reefs of the Main Pool a big seal was hauled out on the reefs being splashed by waves with the coming up tide. I was sure it was RR70 "RIP" but preferred to double check his ID checking the photos on the computer.

When we came back RL20 "Kalua" was hauled out doing the seal rock - nicely blended in.
More tomorrow🌺

June 29th REPORT:
So sorry... life has been a little hectic around here and this morning I noticed I didn't send Saturday's report in.
No worries all is well and I took the day off and enjoyed the rain from in doors and DID not go check on RL20 "Kalua" for the first time in 54 days.

So here is for Saturday:
RN58 "Luana" was down at Camp Erdman Pt - not visible from the house but just around the bend.
RK88 "Puna" was hauled out East Lyman's among many dozen fishing poles - outreach was done with the fishermen.
RL20 "Kalua" D53 has been broadening his horizons and has moved around a lot.
RR70 "RIP" was hauled out on the reef island in the Main Pool at KPt - we haven't seen any other seal in there lately. Corals have shifted so much, the whole point has had a natural landscaping.
R)40 "Ka'ena" did a peep at the entrance of the Main Pool , backed off and left.  That was it !
