12/8/2015 DB's Dailies: Kolohe,Duke&RM38@Rabbit Island, Right Spot@Sandy Beach, Buster & Benny@White Plains, Pohaku@Maili Guard Rails, RIP@Maili Pt

At 0636 I found Right Spot (R016) waiting for me right where she has been 5 of the last 7 days, at the east end of Sandy Beach. I cordoned her off and she has remained. I picked up the rope at 1830, and left signs. Right Spot remains at dark.

At 0741 I found Kolohe (RW22) snoozin’ at the the log, 40 ft left of 1BS. He would move down and enter the water at the left end at 0949, and haul out again at 0954 to the left rock flats.

At 0948 I found Duke (RA12), just hauling out to join Kolohe on the left rock flats. The both would remain there the rest of the day.

When I returned to Makai Pier after a Sandy’s check, at 1120 I found that RM38 had arrived, and was snoozin’ fronting 1BS.

Team Billand called at 0636 with the report of Buster(RV08) & a 100% molted Benny (RE74) at #1708, White Plains. Buster would depart at 0808. Benny left at 0830. At 1612 lifeguards call the Billands to advise that an animal had arrived back to #1707, and seemed to have blood on it’s left fore flipper. The Billands arrived at 1644 to confirm that it was Benny, and that there seemed to be dried blood on the ventral side of his LFF, near the nails. They could not get a better look, but saw no major damage.

The Billands are workin' late with Benny so check the blog in the morning for their day.

At 0928 the Billands called to advise that Melina Clark had reported Pohaku (RO28) at Maili Guard Rails.

At 1000 Team Billand found RIP (RR70) at Maili Point.
