January17, 2026 Saturday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by wildlife enthusiast Connie  and Team R&BπŸ’•

In yesterday's news Connie got lucky and came across two seals.  They were southwest of Kahuku Point and there were signs up. The two were high up on the shoreline. She did her best to get a shot of their tags, but not clear enough to read.  One appears to be an adult male and the other sub-adult size to juvenile size.

Team R&B were happy to see a seal coming in from afar. The seal came to seal inlet, looked around and then galumphed up on the rocks at the zen. They ID'd RM31 Kai who seemed to be looking for a friend. But he was the only one there today.

Over at the outfall there were multiple seals foraging. The only one they were able to ID was RL08.

Team R&B watched folks in the water and soon realized one of them was in trouble. They called over to the lifeguards who went out immediately. They got the man to shore and gave him oxygen and the paramedics arrived.  So scary, and grateful for the lifeguards and first responders.

They stuck around hoping a seal would haul out. Finally one did at tracks. It was an adult but they just not sure which seal. As soon as the seal hauled up, all the fans on the beach came.
At Kahe they were thrilled another seal seal hauled up on the rocks. They ID'd RG32.

From afar they saw a seal hauled up high on shore at electric beach. They couldn't determine who it was other than an adult male. People were there not bothering seal. They were surprised they didn't spot it earlier since he was completely dry.
