January 7, 2026 Wednesday's Dailies

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:18 to 2:20 pm and there were five seals seen during that time.

Among the waterfront rocks down from 1BS was Adult Female 1: adult size, mottled gray female belly and two red tags.

Between 3BS and SRI were ultimately four seals:

Closest to the 3BS was Juvenile Female 1: small juvenile size, older coat, yellow female belly and two red tags. This seal seemed smaller than the other juvenile female seen today. Marilyn wonder if this is RU70.

At about 12:25 pm, Adult Female 2 hauled out between JF1 and a juvenile male. AF2 is large adult, gray female belly, two red tags, scar on her lower neck/upper chest and possibly another line scar on her right dorsal side. Marilyn believes this seal is pregnant with a month or two before birth. Marilyn has seen her on island numerous times, but doesn't know her ID.

Next towards SRI was a Juvenile Male: larger juvenile size, newer coat, two red tags and light male belly. I suspect this was a seal born in 2024.

The last seal was Juvenile Female 2: juvenile size, older coat, yellow female belly and two red tags. This might be RU38.

Team R&B started their day at pokai. They found RH76 Kala at the zen area. She was alone and alert.

Then they saw a seal foraging, mint green snout, male and then it was gone. When they went to check on Kala she wasn't alone, RL20 Kalua was with her. The two of them stayed all day until 4:50 pm. RL20 left and Kala remained.

Over at the outfall they spotted and ID'd RH48 Lei Ola. She was busy foraging near the outfall area.

From afar they spotted a seal at electric beach. It was a large female looking pregnant. At first they thought maybe it was R604 but when the seal turned over they just weren't sure. She was reported as an Unknown Female.

Last stop was at white plains. When they got to the area there spotted a female with tags on shore. It was RL12 Aukai, which surprisingly didn't seem to look so far. Maybe she going to skip a year, or it could be the position she was in.
