Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 1:03 to 2:57 pm and there were three seals seen during that time.
Between 1BS and 2BS was Juvenile Female 1: juvenile size, older coat with some green, yellow-brown female belly and two red tags.
On the middle cliff side of 3BS was Juvenile Female 2: juvenile size, older coat, yellow female belly and two red tags.
In the RRB surge channel was an Adult Unknown: adult to sub-adultsize, two red tags and gray ventral. Marilyn thinks there was an applied N61 on the right side. If so this is R7AF who is a frequent Rabbit Island visitor.
Team R&B's first find at pokai was the lovely RH76 Kala. She was alone on the rocks and they noted she is fat. She was there all day resting.
They hung around for a bit and spotted another little seal coming in. It tried to haul up on the rocks, but was having difficulty. Then they noticed it had a hook on the right side of its mouth and line trailing. Seal struggled to climb up but just couldn't make it. After pulling holding head up high it finally gave up and left. The seal was RU04, and they called into hotline. Team R&B waited and looked for the the little seal, but it never cam back.
They saw a seal hauling in at Kahe. They were able to ID R416 Makalii. He was fine and he didn't have a hook.
They saw another seal from afar and there were folks visiting the seal. They believe the seal is RH32 Kaale. The people were pretty close, but he just stayed.
Another seal hauls up but way out, at tracks. The place is crowded and no parking, so they walked down to try and get an ID. The seal is a big adult, but unfortunately people for to it before Team R&B made it over. They not sure who it was and reported it as an Unknown Adult.
Back at Kahe they went to recheck on R416 and they spotted another seal. It had a lot of scratches and a big scar on its face, and a ding on its back with no tags. They determined it was R617 Kimo. He took off shortly after.
Much to their surprise another seal hauled in, right away they knew it was RL20 Kalua. He sniffed around, looked turned and left.
Lastly they spot another seal on shore at electric beach, with all those people and dogs. They ID'd RL08 by his tags. It was a good seal day for Team R&B.
