November 27, 2023 Monday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by  Marilyn and Team R&B💕  (Marilyn's Rabbit Island update will be part 2 of todays dailies)

Team R&B started their day at the bay where they spotted a small seal foraging. The small seal was doing six minute dives. They ID'd the seal as Kai RM31, who did not  haul out.
There was a bigger seal also foraging, who turned out to be RH76 Kala who eventually landed.
While there on site they scanned the area and by the restcamp was a HMS sign up. There by the wall was a seal who looked to be R3CX Nalu.
They went to check and sure enough on shore was R3CX. Security had set up the zone and showed Team R&B some photos.  They called the hotline.

Next stop they saw one seal, it was RH32 Kaale on his own. Seems strange after the last couple of weeks with multiple seals, today Kaale was alone.
They waited and after a while another seal came up looking around. It was RL20 Kalua, probably looking for his buddies. He went up to his green patch and stayed. He got within 5 feet of Kaale, trolled over and went to sleep.  They notified the hotline.

They made a quick stop back at the bay. This time RM31 Kai had hauled out and was with RH76 on shore. Both were in snooze mode.

They spoke to someone at the site who told them there was a seal at yoks. Of course they had to go check. They arrived to find a adult male who was newly molted and two red tags. The tags were sandy so they had a difficult time figuring out its ID.  Patience persisted, an hour later the seal flexed and they were surprise to see it was RW02.
