The seal near the 2BS was behind and occasionally "hugging" a large log. The seal was ID'd as RW22 Kolohe by his "cue ball" natural bleach behind his front front flipper and male belly. He appears to have molted since the last time Marilyn reported him.
At 12:00, another seal came out of Seal Rock inlet and galumphed up to the seal already there. The newly arrived seal was an adult male but it's size and one quick look at its belly. He had a relatively new coat and some sort of scar midway between its front flipper and rear flippers. The smaller seal moved up into the morning glory, Mrs. Whisperer couldn't determine it's gender but said it was a sub-adult with a brownish coat.
Gina Walker joined up with Marilyn on the pier, but once it started drizzling they departed at 12:30. Upon leaving the pier they found a large conglomeration of rope and net on the floating on the Makapuu side of the pier, which they proceeded to pull out of the water. They got it as high up on the beach as they could, as it was extremely heavy. Gina is going to call 808Cleanups in hopes they can remove it.
Our posse pal Vicki was out and about on the east side today and came up empty, but she did come across this funny looking bird, who looked like it was having a good time.
