2/15/2017 DB's Dailies:J/M, RK36,Kainoa&Kea@Rabbit Island, KC@MCBH, Luana&Squinty@Ka'ena Pt, Ka'ale@Aki's, Pohaku@KoOlina, Kekoa,Kerby,Benny&Kolohe@Maili

It was a busy morning on Rabbit Island. The cast would be the Unknown J/M back at the cliff, left of 1BS, and barely visible, Kainoa (RN04) fronting 1BS, and RK36 fronting Right Greenery.

NOAA personnel went to RI on a new camera mission. Kainoa would be the chosen one. The team successfully mounted the first new kind of camera/transmitter. Kainoa left after the procedure. I did not see him again today.

The J/M was near by the operation, and departed as the capture occurred.

RK36 was there but entered the water just as the operation got under way. He would enter the water at 0907 and was playing in the shore break for a while, with Kea (RN46). His natural bleach on the RFF was visible during play. I lost them.

Posse member Gayle called at 1005, from Kaupo Beach Park, asking if I could see the two animals playing off shore there. When I found them at 1005 I immediately saw Kea’s RFF natural bleach. The other animal was an adult sized animal, that I could not confirm however the chances are excellent that it was RK36. I lost them at 1020. Kea would haul out again to 1BS on RI at 1153.

Posse member Tammy T., braved the weather and slogged to Ka’ena Point this morning. She reported Luana (RN58) high on the hillside above the main pool, and Squinty (R330) at the main pool.

Posse member Anissa sent a shot of KC, probably over nighted at MCBH.

At 0836 Team Billand found Pohaku (RO28) at L#2, KoOlina

At 0923 the Billands reported Kekoa (RK72),Kerby(RW08),
Benny(RE74)& Kolohe (RW22) at Maili.

At 1300 Team Billand found Ka’ale (RH32) at Aki’s Beach, Makaha.
