9/7/2015 DB's Dailies: Kaiwi,Kainoa,Kea&UU@RI, Pohaku@Nanakuli, Rocky@Kaimana, U'ilani@KP

At 0745 I found what would end the day as an U/U on on the left flats, on Rabbit Island. The animal would move back near the cliff, and the observation conditions, it was impossible to get any info, other than it was probably an adult sized animal. It may well be yesterday’s U/M but ???

Also at 0745 I found what would prove to be Kaiwi (RK96) just moving down from the log, 40 ft left of 1BS.

At 0840 what would prove to be Kainoa (RN04) hauled out to join her. Both would enter the water at 0858, then hauling out again to 3BS at 0905. After a short stay they entered the water again, only to haul out at 1109, 50 ft left of 2BS where they remained the rest of the day.

At 0939 on a pan I found what would turn out to be Kea (RN46), 40 ft left of 1BS. He would enter the water a 1220. I did not see him again today.

Dana called at 1431 with a report of an animal at Sandy Beach. When we arrived at 1434 we found Kolohe (RW22) as Crappy Cove, Sandy Beach, and cordoned him off. Kolohe departed at 1855. Thanks to Gayle & Marilyn for sharing in the adventure.

At 0613 Team Billand called with the report of Pohaku (RO28) at Depot’s , Nanakuli. They called again at 1205 to advise that Melina had called them to report Pohaku’s departure at 1200.

I found email from Colleen this morning advising that Rocky (RH58) had returned to Kaimana Beach last night. A ColleenTxt at 0700 this morning advised that Rocky was departing at 0700.

Marilyn called at 0937 to advise that she had received word that U’ilani (RN36) was at Ka’ena Point today. This was later reported in a DanaTxt, by Don Porter observation.
