At 0713 I found Kaiwi (RK96) & the same U/M, 20% molted, at the Morning Glory behind Seal Rock Inlet, Rabbit Island. They would remain all day.Diane Gabriel called at 1122 with a Hotline call about an animal at the Blowhole Cove. When I arrived at 1137 I found Kolohe (RW22). This is his first haul out to this location. I’d last seen him at Crappy Cove, Sandy Beach on 9-7-15.
At 1410 an unknown posse member called with a report of an animal approximately 100 yds east of the AD Wall. When I arrived, at 1420 I found Kimo Kai (RT12). That was quite a shock. This is his first adventure in the SE Quadrant. I cordoned him off, and he remains in snooze mode. He had last been seen ,by Team Billand, at Ranches, on th west side on 9-12-15.
Team Billand checked in at 0658 with the report of Pohaku (RO28) once again at Paradise Cove. Thanks to Chrissy, Melina & Terri for being there. Terri advised the Billands that Pohaku departed, but Benny (RE74) took her place.At 1312 the Billand found RL42 at Makua Cliffs.

Good job to those who came to Paradise Cove again with , Pohaku R028. When we found her, she was floating and making her way to the rocks. I was surprised to see diving gear IN THE ZONE and no seal. Two divers were on the rocks looking for a way to go out to sea.
The divers went to right, Pohaku wedged her body in the rocks, holding on like as the waves kept busting over the rocks. It was neat how SHE KNEW the tide would be going down and stuck it out in between the rocks. Very determined to hide right there until, the waves finally stopped coming over the rocks.
The sun shined on her, she got over heated, made her way to the water hole. Thats where she lay the rest of the day. Her coat just so beautiful after her molt.
Met many great visitors from around the world who got what we were there for...in protecting our Hawaiian Monk Seal. But in the end it got kind of crazy...
I want to thank Melina, Chrissy and last of the volunteers, TERRI. I dont know what to tell you Miss Terri, but THANKS for doing what you did for Pohaku and Benny who showed up late in day. Too bad that one guy would not let him haul up. TOO BAD.
Hope you guys continue to come to Paradise Cove for the seals...I think Pohaku has found her new location for the time being. She is worth the save all. She is worth the save...THEY ALL ARE!!! We just got to stick together and keep trying all kinds of things to KEEP THEM PROTECTED. ITs hard hot work...but we can do it!!!
