The SE quadrant was a bust until I got to Spitting cave at 0749. There I found Buster, doing 6 minute dives.
The Rabbit Island cast took a while to show up. It was not until 1156 that Kerby finally showed up, and then at 1243 Hoku hauled out. He and Kerby got together and did a play/swim session, hauling out together at 1510.
RB08 hauled out to the left end of the island at 1333 and remained there all by herself for the rest of the day.
I did a little swim in the afternoon 100 yds out and to the Waimanalo side of the pier, to investigate a pair of Clorox bottle floats that had gone unattended all day. Obviously, I was thinking gill net, but upon arrival I found they had fish hooks attached, which isn't all that great an idea, but at least it was not the dreaded gill net.
Team Billand made the Ka'ena Point trek, and reported Ka'ena and T15M out there at the end of the world today. Aloha, DB

Aloha All,
I spent the weekend with Jennifer from Kismet Creations and the rest of our wonderful volunteer team at Kapiolani Park in the Outreach Program. Thanks to Jen for getting us in the park and a "free" space to set up and talk to people.
Most people who came by were more interested in hearing the details about Honey Girl's attack and death. That and jellyfish. We did generate some interest with other's and hopefully will have some interested people who might someday join the volunteer staff.
There was a wonderful lady who donated $100.00 to the Honey Girl fund and would not give me her name or anything. She said that Honey Girl was the first turtle she had ever met and she made such an impression that she just could not not help out and make sure that something was done to catch her killer or killers, or at least donate in her memory for the cause. So folks, there are some incredible, wonderful people out there. I just wanted to share this positive and beautiful person's gift with you all. We all had tears in our eyes when she left the booth.
