Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:40 to 2:15 pm and there were six seals seen during that time.
Between 1BS and 2BS were two seals:
Juvenile Male: juvenile to sub-adult size, newer coat, light male belly and two red tags. At one point Marilyn thought this seal might have 3 tags, but in the end doesn't think so.
Nearby was Adult Male 1: adult size, new coat, light to medium gray male belly and two red tags.
Closer to 2BS were two more seals:
R407 Kawika: adult male, new coat 100% molted, gray male belly, no visible tags, rectangular nb on left rear side and small dorsal pit scar. After comparing photos, she is reasonably sure this is R407. HE was the last of the three adult males to finish his molt.
Near R407 was Juvenile Female: juvenile size, light female belly and two red tags.
Juvenile Female 2: juvenile size, light tan female belly and two red tags.
Unknown Adult: adult size, dark coat, sex and tags unknown. This seal never showed its belly or tags. Marilyn thinks it could be one of the recently molted adult males.
Team R&B first find was at Pokai. They spotted RH76 Kala coming up on the rocks, where a guy had just left that spot. He was in a hurry to leave and never looked at Team R&B. Miss Kala is looking lovely and very plump.
Next they headed over to Kahe where they found a seal sleeping in a small pond. The seal was RH32 Kaale who was alone resting peacefully. He is in good condition, health and very handsome in his new coat. They hadn't seen him in a while, so it was good to find him, but then he left and headed west.
Then they spotted the sweetest sight! Two seals on a small busy beach next to each other sound a sleep. It was RS32, little female from 2023 next to RM31 Kai. Team R&B called the hotline.
They checked the area once more before leaving and that's when they spotted another seal arriving on the rocks. This was RL20 Kalua, looking nice and fat today. They would guess he was one of the seals, along with RS32, Kaale and Kai by the akule boats yesterday.
Making a stop at cliffs they spotted a seal on the rocks. So of course they went to check it out. It took a minute to get a good look and then trying to figure out who this male was. Finally a glimpse of its tags revealed it was RP30./31. He is looking plump and healthy, nothing new to report on him.
Team R&B saw whales today that were further out. They were thrilled to see a calf, and did their best to get a photo.
