March 26, 2024 Tuesday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn decided to check some of the southeast quadrant spots today and she had some luck.
She spotted some signs up and not only found a seal but Gamma Gayle watching over R016 Right Spot. Marilyn stopped by in the morning and then again in the afternoon. Right Spot was ID'd by her nb on right side, C scar on her right check, no tags and healing wounds on her ventral side.  Marilyn noted she looked a little thinner than a month ago, but her wounds seem to be healing well and she was able to maneuver reasonably well.
As if finding Right Spot wasn't enough of a treat Marilyn also found RK96 at a different location. She
was resting and there were a few fishermen nearby but no one disturbed her. Kaiwi was ID'd by the small nb on her head, her female belly and two red tags. One of her tags was chipped but there's no doubt this is Kaiwi. She is looking plump and will presumably pup sometime this spring.

Marilyn also made it to the pier and viewed Rabbit Island from 1:32 to 2:36 pm. At about 1:40 she spotted a seal rolling in the shallows near 3BS. This seal never hauled out, but Marilyn believes it was an Adult Male: adult with light male belly, maybe a scar on right rear side and unsure about tags. After lolling for awhile the seal headed off and was not seen again.

Team R&B had just arrived at Kahe when one of their friends on site called out to them LOOK! There were two seals in the water fighting. The two culprits were RM31 Kai and RL08. I believe they were doing the same yesterday.
Then they got a text there was a seal on the rocks. When they checked it out, there were three seals. All the boys were out on the rocks, Kekoa Alii RK72, RG32 and Nalu R3CX.

Meanwhile they kept watch over RM31 and RL08 in the water moving towards electric beach. The tow of them finally landed and moved up shore. They called the hotline, sent photos and expressed concerned about the dogs that were running around.
Team R&B stuck around for a bit hoping a volunteer would arrive,.  They left to check other areas, but
did return later in the afternoon. Both RM31 and RL08 were still on shore. There were folks gathering around them and did not appear any signs or a volunteer were onsite.

Last seal of the day was the beautiful Miss Aukai RL12.  They had made their way over to plains to check and thankfully were rewarded with her presence. Big kudos to the lifeguards who set up a zone around her to keep her safe.
