March 21, 2024 Thursday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Tammy, Marilyn and Team R&B💕
Tammy hiked Ka'ena point yesterday and today.  Yesterday she found three seals at the point:
R420 Kaipo resting at his favorite spot. R418 Kamea and TA68 Lopaka were near each other hanging out.
Then today Tammy met up with Lesley. They watched the whales put on an incredible show.  They only spotted tow seals today. R420 Kaipo with his N11/N1 applied bleach and PW02 PvKauai with three tags.

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:15 to 1:45 and there were three seals during that time.
On LPB was a Sub-adult Female: sub-adult size, light gray female belly and two red tags.
Near the SRI was an Unknown Sub-adult: smaller sub-adult size, unsure about sex or tags.
Out on the rock flats next to SRI was an Adult Female: adult size, plump, light gray female belly and tywo red tags. She may have a scar on the left side of her upper chest and neck area.

Team R&B arrived at Kahe and noticed a couple of folks taking photos. There were three seals all males on the rocks.  The trio included, RG28 Lefty, RL20 Kalua and RG32.

From afar they saw a seal at electric beach, so they drove over. There they found a very alert Miss R604. She was very aware of all the people out there on boogie boards and running about. Its sad there
was no consideration for the resting seal, who happens to be pregnant.
After all the activity and people yelling and landing close to the her, R604 took off.  It's disappointing  but probably best she left the area.

At another west side location they found two male seal together. There were both resting enjoying the warmth of the sun. There were ID'd as R617 Kimo and RM31 Kai.
