March 19, 2024 Tuesday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:25 to 2:00 and there were three seals seen during that time.
Out on the rock flats Lanikai side of LPB was a seal labeled as an Adult Female: adult size, light yellow mottled female belly, unsure about tags.
On LPB was a Sub-adult Female: sub-adult size, light gray female belly and two red tags.
At SRI was a Sub-adult Male: sub-adult size, light gray male belly, and unsure about tags.
Marilyn also spent time watching Masked Boobies: a pair and a single individual. She wondered if the single bird was the offspring of the pair.

Team R&B first stop at Kahe area they spotted a seal foraging. There were lots of snorkelers in the water too. They could not get a positive ID other than it was adult size with a cc scar, so it was reported as an unknown adult.
They were there for hours watching another adult seal with a clean coat and red tags. They noted a scar on the left side of its mouth.  Then the snorkelers came to the area, and one guy thought the seal was going to bite him, and got Team R&B's attention. The guy was yelling to get the seal away from him. Team R&B could see the seal had caught a fish and was eating it and the snorkelers with go-pros in hand were approaching to get its picture.  They believe this seal to be RH32 Kaale.
They headed out to white plains and when they arrived the "royal princess" RL12 Aukai was in a zone. There were lots of people out and about and all was good. Aukai has a cut on her right side of her face, they noted an opening of her skin, but is just fine.
From there they found a seal resting at Kermits Reef.  They ID'd R407 who was alone and doing just fine.

Team R&B headed back for a recheck by kahe and initially didn't see any critters. Then they spotted a seal on shore at electric beach.  It was Kaale RH32 and a surfer dude walked right by him. That's when a woman yelled out " watch out for the seal, its right there"  Personally its times like this when you have to feel good, when the public knows enough to speak up.

Next they headed to guard rails where they found a tannish seal on the rocks. It was resting near the homeless camp. They saw a cc scar above the left side flipper and applied bleach N10, so they knew it was R416.

At another west side location they were happy to find two boys
hanging out on the rocks. They were RG28 Lefty and RM31 Kai near seal inlet.

Last stop of the day was at the bay. They were surprised to find Nalu R3CX alone and snoozing.
Then they found  Miss Kala RH76 in the front area. She was snoozing her chubby self in the pond.
