5/11/2015 DB's Dailies: Sadie,PO2&Kainoa@RI, Buster@SB, Nihoa,Kimo Kai&Kolohe@GR, Kekoa,Nihoa&Kolohe@Maili Pt, La'akea&Ola@TB, Benny@KoOlina, RL42@Makua Cliffs, 5-11-15 Y/N, Rocky@EB,, La'akea&Ola@TB,5-10-15, KC@Moku Nui

On my first look at Rabbit Island at 0655 I found Sadie&PO2 (D#26) up in the Morning Glory, 20 ft left of 1BS, and Kainoa (RN04) 40 ft right of 3BS.

Sadie&PO2 were out on the morning swim when I got back at 0820, but hauled out to the water line at the far left end of the beach at 0849 for a feed and a snooze. Another swim occurred from 1126-1304. This haul was a special one. For the first observed time since this began, they hauled out to the left end rock flats, where the again did a feed, and were still snoozin’ when I departed for the day.
I noticed yesterday that what I call the “red phase” has begun on the pup. It now has the rust , red tinge to the coat, and an appreciable increase in size has begun this weekend. I got lots of looks at the belly today, but still have no clue as to sex.

At 0630 Team Billand reported Nihoa (R912) at Maili Guard Rails. She was gone on the 1538 check.

At 0652 the Billands found Kekoa (RK72) at Maili Point.

At 0949 they advised that Kimo Kai (RT12) had joined Nihoa at GR, and at 1043 further advised that Kolohe (RW22) had now hauled out to join them . Kolohe would be gone in the afternoon, but they found him now hauled out with Kekoa at Maili Pt.

At 1300 Lesley called with the report of La’akea at Ola’s on the hotel beach. She was continuing to the weaner site, and mentioned that Diga was there so I’m sure we’ll be getting Ola news later.

At 1700 Team Billand reported Benny (RE74) at Lagoon#3, KoOlina.

At 1731 they reported RL42 at Makua Cliffs.

In the Y/N department, Vera Cober sent outstanding shots of Ola (RG03) & big sister La’akea(RK82) together at the birth beach.

Dana forward a shot from Michael Plowman, of Rocky (RH58) yesterday in the wilds of Ewa Beach.

Nick Vargas, one of Ama’s DOFAW crew sent photos from 5-8-15 of KC (RK28) at Moku Nui.

A late evening email from posse member Vicki Hangai, brought news that she had found Buster (RV08) at the Blowhole end of Sandy Beach, at dark tonight.

I haven't seen any information on Meli in quite some time. Is she no longer seen at her birth beach?

Meli has not been reported since July of 2014. Hopefully, she will turn up one day. Diane
