5/7/2015 DB's Dailies: Sadie,PO2,RM38&Kea@RI, Pohaku@Makaha, RT12@Guard Rails, Kekoa@Maili Pt, Benny@Sunset Beach

I was batting zero on my first pass at 0630, however, when I got back to Makai Pier at 0828 I found Sadie (RB12) at the water line, keeping an eye on PO2 floppin’&flappin’ in the shore break at the left end of Rabbit Island. Sadie would join the pup in the water from 0841-1010. They would haul out for a feed/snooze and then reenter the water for another session from 1120 - 1217. Again it was a brief rest break. They were back in the water from 1348 - 1425.

Also at 0828 I found what would prove to be RM38 on the rocks to the right of Seal Rock Inlet. He would remain there all day.

On a pan at 1310 I found what would turn out to be Kea (RN46) newly arrived to the left end rock flats. His RFF natural bleach was glowing brightly.

Ocean Safety called at 1005 with the report of an animal at Makaha surfing beach. I called Team Billand, who called Debbie, and she would confirm the Pohaku (RO28) at 1156 .

At 1140 Team Billand found Kimo Kai (RT12) at Maili Guard Rails.

At 1405 Team Billand found Kekoa (RK72) at Maili Pt.

Dana called at 1547 with the report of Benny (RE74) at Sunset Beach. Apparently, Joy had seen him in the water in the morning, but he did not haul out until this call.

HB posse member Martha called to advise that her friend, Terri Cordell (sp?) had called her to report having seen 3 U/U on the rocks at Ka’ena Point at 1247. There was no other info. Hopefully, a miracle will happen and cooberating evidence will come in , providing more info.

Lastly, Happy 6th to my #5 son Duke (RA12)!

Happy 6th Birthday Duke... wow 6 already
