At 0636 I found Aukai (RL12) snoozin’ in the Morning Glory, at 3BS on RI.At 0934, what would prove to be Kainoa (RN04) hauled out to Seal Rock Inlet, on RI.
At 1005 RM38 hauled out to join Aukai at 3BS. He would stay most of the day, but in the afternoon, entered the water and hauled out again to join Kainoa at Seal Rock Inlet.
At 1014 Weaner, PO2 hauled out to 1BS on RI. I think I saw what I needed to see, but have sent shots to senseis Obi-wan & Yoda at the office to get their opinions.
At 1156 Ocean Safety called with the report of an animal at the Blowhole end of Sandy Beach. When I arrived at 1210, I found, confirmed & cordoned off Buster (RV08). Buster remains a dark.
Melanie called at 1158 with the report of Kaiwi (RK96) at China Walls.Team Billand called at 0636 with the report of Nihoa (R912) under the bridge at Maipalaoa Canal. At 1009 Kolohe (RW22) would haul out to join her. NOAA personnel would haze both from the mouth of the canal at 1041.
At 1432 the Billands found RL42 at Makua Cliffs. She remained though there was some harassment observed.At 1450 they reported RIP (RR70) at Keaau’s
At 1526 the Billands found Kimo Kai (RT12) at LahiLahi
Jeanne Martinson found Benny (RE74) once again at 3 Tables on the North Shore.

Got a text from Deb, seal at Waikomos. Got there to find Mr RIP RR70, trans still attached.
Met up with the caller Deb's daughter, DAWN and son. She told me he had just come up.
Deb came to sit with him while we moved on. Deb did call around 5ish and said RIP left site .

It always sickens me to see a harassment of a seal. Some people just love to see the seals struggle trying to get out of the position its in. L42 was pretty much snuggled in the crevice of the rocks, and she did vocalize at the jerk. But he wanted that SHOT of her...humans are so mean. Yet the seal remained after the idiot left. I always say...Hawaiian Monk Seals are targets out there, poor things.
