6/17/2017 DB's Dailies: Sadie&Aka (D#44), Aukai&RG32 at Rabbit Island, Right Spot @ Sandy Beach, RN14@Kahe Pt., Ka'ena&RW02@Ka'ena Point,

I was at Makai Pier at 0720 stressin’ for a weaner, but alas.......D#44 continues. Sadie (RB12) & Aka (D#44) were just moving down to the water line amongst the rocks at the far left end as usual. Through the day the were doing water sessions which I could see glimpses, and there were multiple haul outs for feeds and snoozes as per usual. Tomorrow ???? DB... how many days was it last year?  Really makes you think about RJ30 birth date.

 On the water front rocks, 40 ft left of Seal Rock Inlet I found RG32 & Aukai (RL12) through the day. That was the RI cast for the day.

 Sandy Beach walker posse person Carla called at 0828, advising of an animal at the east end of Sandy Beach. I contracted the Hotline at that time. At 1320 I stopped by SB for an ID,at 1320, Hmma was there. Observations confirmed that it was Right Spot (R016), by her flipper notch, her right side NB, her female belly and scars.

 Team Billand reported at 1337 of RN14 at Kahe Pt. Olivia graduated from M.I.T today, (or maybe it was kindergarten ? )  YEAH !!  Olivia....  our future monk seal protector!!! 

 Marilyn & Lesley did the northern exposure to the Ka’ena Point trek. They found Ka’ena (RO40) at BG’s pool, and a brief encounter with RW02 in the Main Pool, who quickly departed, but a right facial scar and tags and a notch on the RHF.
