5/13/2020 Thursday Lesley's Ka'ena Update

I had to stay on this side today but was lucky to see several seals
For over a week I've been humming PO4's nickname and decided to share it today. A simple short "Kai" meaning sea.
Nihoa's male offspring's were nicknamed related to water (ex. Ka'ale and Puna, with exception of Kalua) and the females related to flowers.
It was very early went I got down to check on RL42 Leia  & PO4 Kai D21 they were having a swimming session, Kai was vocalizing non stop.
Then a louder bark came from across the beach. RH32 Ka'ale was doing his "grande entrรฉe". Leia told him to get lost, he entered the water swam around them and hauled out on the other side. He was still there on my other checks till lunchtime.
While he was doing his show off seen to big sister and nephew a seal swam by but never stopped to look at them.
RN58 Luana hidden hauled out between some rocks on Lyman's side - she also was still there on my last check
Down at 10Mns Beach RF28 (M) - RO28 Pohaku's first born in 2014, was hauled out. He has some small NBs and a V28 marking. He was seen yesterday towards Kawela side.
I may have time for one last check before sunset.    More tomorrow ๐ŸŒบ
