April 21, 2024 Sunday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn, Team R&B and old posse pal Paul Hasley.

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:40 to 2:20 and only Mom and PO3 were on island today.
They were again between Middle Cliff and SRI. The pup wandered away from Pua RF34 several times, and then would return. Marilyn did see one nursing session during her viewing time.
Between 1BS and 2BS were some tracks in the sand on the dunes. They don't seem to be monk seal tracks, possibly a turtle.

Team R&B started off at Kahe where they found one seal. There was RM31 Kai who had just arrived and on his own today.
They did spot a Manta Ray in the water. It kept going to one spot, maybe there was something good to eat.

Off in the water they spotted a seal foraging. They couldn't make a positive ID but suspect this might be RH32 Kaale. He never landed while they were there.
There was a second seal farther out of Kahe pipes. They only got one blurry photo so no ID was possible. They could only determine it was an adult.

Last find came at the bay. There were two females hauled out together. There was the lovely and fat RH76 Kala with her gal pal RL70 Leina.

Old friend of the blog Paul sent a couple of photos from his trek to Ka'ena point today.  He came across three seals! R420 Kaipo was there, ID'd by his N11-N1 applied bleach.
With the help of Lesley she ID'd R330 Squinty. The other seal doesn't give us much to go on, so he's an unknown male.
