3/16/2018 Monk Seal Dailies:

Today's dailies are brought to you by Team Billand, Gayle and Melody.

Gayle got word from a whale watching friend Bob of a critter foraging around Lanai Lookout today. Gayle went to look for herself later but didn't see anyone.
Today there were two critters on Rabbit Island. Gayle noted one of the things DB always mentioned was the coming and going of the Sooty Terns on Rabbit Island. Having said that she mentioned they have been there for days flying around, and not sure if they have landed.
Gayle also found a big mess of rope by the keiki pool, but when she returned later in the afternoon someone had moved it up to the sand area.

Team Billand came across Ka'ale RH32 on a westside beach laying on his back in "yoga" relax mode. Tags were visible, his tummy is white, clean, no new marks, plump and healthy. He was on his own today, which is sad because his interaction with his buddies is priceless. I love his butt head antics.

At a Leeward Beach Team Billand was sitting waiting for a sighting, and heard a familiar snort. Looking around they didn't see anything but heard the snort again. Off to the right there was Kekoa RK72, coming in.
On their next check, he was still there to the right snoozing away in peace. He was joined by RN14 Kalani. They found Kalani galumphing to the mid of rocks and his bleach number N14 very visible. He went to the left of Kekoa, who was still in the same spot from early this morning still sleeping.
* There was some video of Kalani N14 on facebook. While on a swim/dive Pat Goding got some footage of him resting underwater. He was clearly ID'd by his N14 bleach.
Team Billand also got a little surprise today while observering Kekoa, there about 50 feet away there sat a cat on the rocks.

Melody was on the westside this morning and caught up with Barbara. She sent a couple of pictures she got of Kekoa RK72. Thank you Melody.
