9/9/2015 DB's Dailies: Kaiwi&Kainoa@RI,, Pohaku@Nanakuli, RL42@Makua Cliffs, RIP&U'ilani@KP, Kimo Kai@Nimitz Bch, Holokai@Turtle Bay,

I was batting zero on my first Rabbit Island look at 0656, and my 2nd at 0847. It would be 0940 before I chanced to spy a likely looking rock behind the water front rocks at right Middle Cliff. It would take the arrival of Kainoa (RN04) at 0942 to that location to get what would prove to be Kaiwi (RK96) behind those rocks. They would enter the water together at 1123, and haul out again to the same location at 1211, where they remained for the rest of the day.

Despite mulitiple checks of the quadrant by both Gayle and myself, that was to be the cast for today.

At 0611 Team Billand reported Pohaku (RO28) at Depot’s , Nanakuli. She spewed a recent tako meal. Thanks to Deb & Jean. Deb reported Pohaku’s departure at 1813.

Posse member Rikki Goble called from the End of the World at 1022, to advise that she had found RIP (RR70) at the 20 minute beach on the Waianae side trail in to KP. At the point at 1122 she reported U’ilani (RN36.

At 1147 Team Billand found RL42 at Makua Cliffs. NOAA personnel responded to assess her hook situation. Team Billand photos show nothing visible around the mouth. Awaiting further NOAA info.

Team Billand received ,and forwarded to me, a shot of what we agree appears to be Kimo Kai (RT12) at NIM, from an unknown photographer, through the Hotline.

Both Diane Gabriel & Melanie Chun did Holokai (RG40) shifts today and provided warm & fuzzy weaner shots.
