August 21, 2026 Friday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:18 to 2:49 pm and there were either four or five seals on island during that time.
Initially hauling out on the 1BS side of LPB was recent weaner PO13: fat weaner size, light female belly and no tags. PO13 moved across the beach towards the LPB and then went into snooze mode.
About 60 fee Makapuu side of the 3BS were two seals:
Adult Unknown 1: adult size older, coat, no info on sex or tags.
Nearby was weaner RV50: weaner size, three red tags, female belly and applied N81 bleach on left shoulder.
Near the SRI channel was Weaner Unknown: weaner size light belly no info on tags. The AU1 left RV50 and swam over and pestered the WU.
At 2:05 pm Adult Unknown 2: was found hauled out on the 1BS side of LPB. AU2 may be the same seal as AU1, but Marilyn just couldn't
be sure. The AU2 moved down near the water and then moved back on thee berm.

Team R&B were on the west side when they spotted an adult female with green on her coat. They saw a CC scar on right side and one tag. They thought maybe Kala, but when they got home and studied the photos they realized it was RL42 Leia, this being her first visit to the area that they know of.
A second seal arrived and immediately went up to RL42. It was a male with no tags, and very robust. He had scars on his head and that was made them ID him as R617.  While watching the two of them, they noticed RL42 had small bite marks on neck and head, but she was fine.

At the outfall area they saw two seals, but they couldn't get any decent
photos. The only thing they know is they were both adults with green on their coats. Team R&B stayed and watched the dolphins for a little while.

Next they decided to stop off at paradise cove. When they got to the site they saw a seal resting. It was RL12 Aukai and she is molting. There was a volunteer on site.

Of course they made their way to plains to check on Marvin.  Much to their delight they found KG54/G89 Huaki on shore. She is looking
healthy with a nice clean coat.
Then there was his boy RT06 Marvin back to his usual spot near the fence line. The beach was packed with plenty of kids running around, some in the zone.  RT06 looks good and managed to rest with all the people around.
