October 16, 2024 Wednesday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:24 to 2:06 pm and there were four seals seen during that time.
Initially on the 1BS of LPB were two seals:
Adult Male: adult size, about 30% molted (upper chest has new skin), male belly and at least one red tag. This might be RK24 Bruno.
Unknown Adult:  adult size, older dark coat, at least one red tag, not sure about sex. Marilyn believes the seal is a male. This seal entered the water sometime between 1:22 and 1:30 pm and was seen briefly in the water in the water in front of the 1BS, but then not seen again.
Between 3BS and SRI was R7AF: sub-adult size, new coat, light male belly and two red tags.
Near SRI was the molting Sub-adult Female: smaller sub-adult size, about 75% molted with light gray male belly and two red tags.

Team R&B started their day at the bay. They found a large male again, no tags seen with scars on left side of face, and on fore flipper. They really do think this is R617.
While on site they heard a snort, so they kept looking for the seal. Then they spotted RL20 Kalua, who is still molting. He spotted the unknown male and they met up with each other.

Team R&B spotted multiple seals foraging in the open ocean. One of them looks to be RH76 Kala.  The other is RL12 Aukai. Next seal they spotted is very green and they ID'd R3CX Nalu. He went along,, foraging and then he looked for Aukai RL12. He headed for her.

On their way home they were driving by and spotted a seal with a clean coat on the rocks. Unfortunately they had no time to stop and weren't able to get a photo or an ID.
