Aloha keia'la: The biggest problem the Monk Seal is going to have is exposure. Personally, I've always found it fascinating to watch a Monk Seal on the beach. I never even knew this site existed until I retired and got introduced to it by Tracy. I would have gladly supported the momentum and direction as its stated herein. But I didn't know. I know many people that have a decision making influence in these islands. But would never have thought that a Monk Seal needed advertisement. Now that I know, I will now do what I can to make this animal more than a sleeping ocean puppy! The more I read, the more I become aware of what is needed. I need direction on this subject and I believe there are many many out there that would respond favorably if they had a direction. But first things first, there needs to be a known organization with known contacts. As much as my involvement is at this point, I do not know who is doing the organizing, nor do I know a phone number/Email or method of contact to those taking the lead. And I'm looking. What about all those that aren't looking? How can anybody expect someone to find something that he's not looking for and doesn't know even exists?

There's too many people involved with their own worlds. Times are hard and people are busy. Spare time does not exist any more. Those days are gone. It's a factor that needs to be considered. My blog-site is NORTH SHORE MONK! Give me your ideas and any direction you want. I am more than willing to do more than my part to assist in a movement about which, I only recently discovered. Or you can E me directly at haleiwahi@hawaii.rr.com . . . Happy Monking! Just think, I grew up to become a monkologist! Lol.
