Also as a side note I am including an U/U that was seen by Team R&B yesterday when they got back from their Ka'ena West walk. They couldn't make a positive ID although they suspect it is R330 Squinty.
In todays news Team R&B stopped at a west side location and found little RP84 Pe'ekai at seal inlet snoozing. Later he was playing in the pond with a stick. RW02 PvKauai was on lower rocks and Leina RL70 resting in the shallows.
At another locations they spotted two seals resting side by side. On the rocks were R3CX Nalu andRL20 Kalua. To the left lay their fat girl RH76 Kala. There was no interaction between her and the boys.
Team R&B got word of a seal on shore so they left to check it out. When they arrived they saw a female seal who is looking hapai. They didn't see any tags, but noted she has a cookie scar on her under belly near teats. She has two large cookie scars one on the right side and another further down on her side. Possibly a scar on lower lip, that could have been from a hook. On her upper chest she has a big scar. Two line scars on the top of her head.
At another beach on the west side they found Puka RP30 again. He was alone snoozing on the rocks. They finally got a look at his wound, which is a cookie wound healing nicely.
They looked around again and spotted a slither of a seal. They walked out to see and got the ID. It was RL42, looking plump. This was not the same seal as yesterday.
Posse pal Amy went out today to the spot where there has been a lot of activity lately. Today one seal arrived around 11 am. She stayed with the seal and did some outreach on the beach providing the curious onlookers with monk seal basics. The seal left about 5 pm heading south. She wasn't able to ID this critter. Looks like an unknown male, but then again ??
