November 2, 2025 Sunday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn, old posse pal Justin and Christine, and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:36 to 2:25 pm and there were three seals seen during that time.
When Marilyn started viewing there was a sub-adult seal about 50 feet Lanikai side of the 2BS. The seal left at 12:43 pm and she is reasonably sure that the same seal hauled out on the 3BS side of Middle Cliff at 1:33 pm. Marilyn is labeling this seal as Sub-adult Female: sub-adult size, very sandy but believes there was a lighter female belly and at least one tags on RRF. Marilyn wondered if this could be R04P born in 2021.
Between 3BS and SRI were two seals:
Adult Male: large adult size, old coat (ready to molt?), brown male belly and at least on red tag.
Sub-Adult Male: sub-adult size, new coat, gray male belly and two red tags.

Our old posse-pals Justin & Christine were out on the west side today. Over at Kahe they found RP30 Puka alone resting in a rocky pool. He was ID'd by flipper tags P30 & P31.  They reported the sighting to the hotline.

Team R&B first find was at pokai. They found Miss Kala RH76 alone and snoozing on waterfront rocks.
The place was packed with people since there was some type of ceremony taking place.

They watched several seals foraging by the jetty Rest camp and bay were full of canoes, some sail boat and paddlers.
They ID'd RG32 who was with RM31 Kai.  They also spotted RH48 Lei Ola out there, who was probably still keeping her distance from RG32.

Lastly they got word of a seal at plains. When they arrived, they found KG89 Huaka'i on shore and in the water.  There were a few nerve racking moment when little kids were in the area close to G89.  I really wish people would realize that they are very large, powerful wild animals.
