November 1, 2025 Saturday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn did the Ka'ena Point trek on this beautiful day. She only saw one seal today.
On Back Beach in the NAR was R617 Kimo snoozing: adult size, old coat with some green, male belly and no tags.  There were no other critters seen in spite of searching, which is unusual.

Team R&B's first sighting was their Boobie Buddy flying around. They did not see him land today.

Over by the Jetty/Rect camp were a couple of seals foraging. They ID'd RG32 and Lei Ola RH48.
Eventually they lost sight of Lei Ola.

From afar they spotted a seal hauling up on shore in Makaha. The seal was an adult with a clean coat. They made their way over to site and saw a person heading towards the seal. They tried to hurry over but it was too late the seal was gone. They never got a close look at it for any ID.

Then over by the jetty they spotted a large adult, unsure if it had tags. The seal was swimming by. So they reported another Unknown Adult.

Over at yoks they were happy to see two seals on shore. One was a male with tags they ID'd as RW02 PvKauai. He is looking very green.  The other seal was Lefty RG28, who they haven't seen in awhile. Nice to have the boys hanging out.
They happen to turn around and saw another seal hauling out about 100 feet away from RG28 & RW02.

It was R416 Makalii, which took them a bit of time to figure out. They were able to confirm his ID once they got home and checked the photos and got input from the posse.
The big news of the day was while they viewed the seals at yoks, Team R&B saw spouting and flukes up while diving. The whales are back!  They did see several breaches and tail slaps, but their battery on the camera was dead.

Team R&B went back to pokai to see if any critters hauled up. They were thrilled to find RM31 Kai cuddled up on the rocks.
Lastly but not lease was their final find on shore at rest camp. There was a very fat Lei Ola RH48. She is one big girl !
