August 31, 2025 Sunday's Dailies

Today's dailies are brought to you by Team R&B💕

Team R&B started their day at Pokai and initially therre were no seals. They waited and then heard barking and whooping. There were two seals making their way in. The first seal was RH76 Kala followed by an aggressive RG32.  Seems she wasn't happy with him so she let him have it. Thankfully he settled down a bit.
From afar they saw a green seal foraging alone on the rest camp side. They watched but weren't able to make an ID or get any photos.

Next they went to check on Miss R604. She was on shore alone and resting. There was a person to her right just watching her.  Eventually she moved up after the waves got to her.

After leaving R604, Team R&B watched from afar and noticed a second seal further away from her. They couldn't make an ID other than it was male with lots of green.

They did find RL12 Aukai out there again. In spite of the big crowd she settled in close to a large group of people. Thankful for the lifeguards that set up a zone for her.
The waves were huge today rushing up the shore to Aukai.  It seemed
as though she wanted to move up shore but there were just too many people.

Last but not least Team R&B got to enjoy the dolphins in two different location.  They even got to see some of the babies in action.  As always the dolphins were doing what they do best, having fun.

August 30, 2025 Saturday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn, posse pal Kathy O and Team R&B💕'

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:06 to 1:35 pm and there were six seals seen during that time.
Ay 12:15 pm Marilyn saw a weaner hauling out on the rock flats on the Lanikai side of LPB. Marilyn believes this to be recent weaner RU48 because of the faint applied bleach on right side. He moved to the back of the rock flats and after playing a few minutes he went into snooze mode.
On the Lanikai side of LPB older weaner RU38: older weaner size and shape, light female belly and two red tags.
As Marilyn was setting up the camera and scope, an adult seal was hauling out on the middle of LPB. This turned out to be an Adult Male who galumphed up to the two other seals, (one hidden) in the depression in the middle of LPB. The AM was large adult size, older coat, brown male belly and at least one red tag.
Marilyn labeled the other two seals as unknown sub-adults: US1: appears to have a newer coat with a light gray ventral and two tags. This is probably the S/F who has been molting.
Hidden most of the time was Unknown Sub-adult 2: sub-adult size, older coat and light tan belly, not sure about tags or sex.
On the 3BS side of Middle Cliff was RU64: recent weaner size, shape and coloration, two red tags and light male belly.

Posse pal Kathy sent an email about a seal that was at Iroquois Point this morning. Seems its been a while since any seals have visited the area. But today she got a message at 6:45 am and went down to check it out. She didn't see any tags and believes this is an adult female. The seal left at 7:47 am, so she didn't stick around.  Good to hear from our pal!

Team R&B started out at Pokai where they saw someone looking around at a certain area. They went to see and sure enough there was Kala RH76 and RG32 hiding in the rocks, making them hard to see. This is a good thing. Both of them were snug as a bug! Team R&B didn't want to stay long, to not bring any attention to them.
Before they headed out they did get to see the dolphins doing what they do best, having fun!

Next they headed out and went to check on R604. They found her at her original spot close to the edge of the water. There was a fisher near by. A swimmer told them there had been another seal but left shortly after it arrived.
As Team R&B left, they watched from afar and sure enough, some guy walked up to R604 who then moved up to the bushes. He sat down next to her and R604 went ballistic. A lady in a blue dress was near by, the man got up after R604 postured and barked at him.

Team R&B headed over to Plains and saw there was a seal. The lifeguards had signs and ropes up as there were lots of people out today. They studied the adult female seal for over an hour. She had two tags, ding on mid-shoulders, ding on mid head.
It was after they drove away that the light bulb went off. Aukai RL12 !!!  What threw them off was in their mind they thought she already molted,. So here is Aukai and was there the other day as well.

August 29, 2025 Friday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:35 to 2:25 pm and there were five seals seen during that time.
Out on the rock flats on the Lanikai side of LPB was recent weaner RU64 : chubby weaner size, two red tags and light male belly.
At 1:01 pm recent weaner RU48 hauled out on the Lanikai side of LPB. Marilyn believes the applied bleach she saw yesterday is truly an applied bleach based on todays photos. It appears the N27 bleach on RU48 partly took. RU48: chubby weaner size and shape, two red tags and light male belly. Weaner moved up the beach and played with something on the beach before going into snooze mode.
There were three seals partly hidden in a depression on the middle of LPB:
TempN25: sub-adult size, new dark upper coat, scar above LFF, light male belly.
Sub-adult Female: sub-adult size, about 80% molted, light female belly, no info on tags.
Unknown Adult: adult size, unsure about sex or tags. The UA was "nosed" by TempN25.

Team R&B started out bright and early at rest camp. They were there for over an hour and never saw any seals.
They eventually found RH76 Kala with RG32 resting on the rocks at pokai. Both were still there on their afternoon check.
While they were watching over Kala and G32, they scanned the rest camp side again and spotted a seal. It was an adult male foraging, but they just didn't have much to go on.

They decided to head over to tracks to look for R604.  It took a little bit but finally found her alone onshore enjoying the sunshine. She is looking gorgeous with her new coat, even with all her cc scars.
As they were leaving the sight, they noticed people getting out of the water and looking to the right. Then they got a text that another seal was coming in. Of course Team R&B rushed back and saw the seal heading towards R604.
It was RH32 Kaale, who hurried over to R604 and sniffed her. She woke up and barked at him, which did not deter him He was excited and approached her, she barked again and then he backed off. Finally settling in and laying next to her. She was okay with that.
RH32 then entered the water and left, looking back to see if she would follow, but she remained.
