May 13, 2025 Tuesday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:22 to 1:57 pm and there were five seals seen during that time.
Near the LPB surge channel were three seals:
Adult Male: adult size, medium gray male belly, unsure about tags, possible scar on head. Marilyn wondered if this might be RG32.
MO3 and her pup PO3: mom appeared to have just awakened when Marilyn started viewing and immediately moved herself and the pup
away from the AM. MO3 (presumably RB12 Sadie) seems more tolerant of other seals near her pup than RF34 Pua.  RF34 seems to end up charging seals that get to near her and her pup.  PO3 is looking rotund; still no clue on its sex. MO3 and PO3 spent most of the time snoozing. At 1:53, they headed into the water.
RF34 Pua and her pup PO4 were snoozing at the waterline. The tide was rising and at 1:12 pm Mom and pup entered the water and cavorted along the shoreline. They hauled out about 1:35 pm, moved up the shore, where the pup snoozed in front of mom for awhile
before going around to her rear side. When the pup was in water, Marilyn saw that the ventral appeared reddish which is usual at this age.

Team R&B only found one seal today. They found R3CX Nalu alone resting on the rocks.  Seems Kala dumped his butt, as she was no where around.  They heard the lifeguards making announcements and then saw the signs. No one was swimming, guess there was a shark
sighting.
The only other critters around today were the dolphins. They even spotted their split fin dolphin.
