May 15, 2025 Thursday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕 However in yesterday's news department Tammy sent us information on her sightings from Wednesday.

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 1:00 to 2:30 pm and there were five seals seen on island during that time. Both moms and their pups hauled out in the 3BS to SRI area. It took Marilyn a while to confirm which mom was which. Thankfully she got a good view of RF34's rear side scar confirming her identity.
Initially nearer the 3BS was MO3 and her pup PO3. RF34 Pua and her pup PO4 were initially between 3BS and SRI.
Marilyn briefly spotted an adult seal on LPB, but once she finished her initial viewing/scan of the moms and pups, the seal had left LPB.
At 1:11 pm, she spotted an Adult Male checking out MO3 and PO3 and later checking RF34 and PO4. Neither of the moms was happy about the AM's presence and there was vocalization and charges.
At about 1:50 pm, PO4 started heading in the 3BS direction. Marilyn thinks this was in response to the vocalization between MO3 and PO3. Pua followed her pup and ended up fairly close to MO3 and PO3. The moms then vocalized and charged coming very close to each other, then Pua moved away with PO4 in tow.
Then the AM hauled out between the two pairs of moms and pups and then again approached both moms and pups again. Marilyn thinks it must have been a stressful day for both moms.
Marilyn would now label both moms as medium girth rather than fat. Both still look healthy.  The pups are bother reaching the beach ball stage.

Team R&B searched all day and came up empty. They decided to go fishing with their son and grandson at pokai.  They didn't catch anything but their sun was lucky catching one fish.
They did find one seal alone at the zen area. It was RG28 Lefty, they noticed a bite mark on his flipper.
That was it a quiet day.

Yesterday's news: Tammy met up with Lesley and headed out to the point. They had a great day where
they saw six seals.
Their first find was Holokai RG40 resting on sand. He usually frequents Turtle Bay, he does spend a lot of time at Ka'ena.  Their next find was R3CU a male originally from Kauai. He was on the sand next to the rocks. On the other side was RG32 resting belly up in the rocks.
On their way back they spotted RW02 PvKauai on the runway.  They went to a couple more beaches to check and found a young female RS32 a two year old and keeping her company was RL47 Kamakana.
