October 27, 2025 Monday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:14 to 1:50 pm and there were two seals seen during that time. Once again it was overcast making it difficult for photos and viewing.
Adult Male: small adult size, mostly new coat 95% molted, light gray male belly and two red tags.
Nearby was a Sub-adult Female: sub-adult size, old coat, two red tags, female belly with lots of green.

Team R&B had a very busy day today. Their first sighting from afar was RP28 Wakea. He was alone
high up on shore at Makaha. They meant to return to check on him, but they had multiple seals today and were pretty tired at the end of the day.

At Pokai they found Miss Kala RH76. She was resting at the front rocks and was alone today.
Then all the fun was at rest camp where there were multiple seals foraging. They had to sort through over 300 photos trying to make their IDs.
There was the lovely Lei Ola RH48 busy foraging. They also saw R3CX Nalu out there too.
Next they were able to ID RM31 Kai also foraging, must be good eats for all of them to be out there. Then there was RG32 also getting his fill.
They saw a small seal haul out all the way down and it was trying to make its way up higher. The seal moved down and entered the water. Originally Team R&B thought it was RP28, but it wasn't. They didn't known until they got home that this little one was actually weaner RU40 Wai.
Team R&B got a call of a seal on shore at plains. So they headed out and found the old dude, R407
Kawika. They were happy to see and hope he hangs out to molt.

From afar they saw what they thought was a big turtle at Makua, but it was a seal. After waiting for movement they were finally able to make an ID. They determined it was RG28 Lefty from his cc scars.

Lastly they got a call about two seals hauled out at rest camp. When they got there they couldn't believe their eyes.  There on shore was RU40 with a huge female.  It was such a long day they wanted to get the females ID. They saw an H and then realized it was Lei Ola RH48.  RU40 looked so tiny next to her.
What a beautiful way to end their busy day.
