October 12, 2025 Sunday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:15 to 2:15 pm and there were five seals seen during that time.
Out on the Lanikai side of LPB was a Weaner Male: more recent weaner size, shape and coloration, light yellow male belly and tow red tags.
Near the LPB surge channel were two seals:
RQ44 Mahina: sub-adult to adult size, new coat, gray female belly and three red tags.
Sun-adult Female 1: smaller sub-adult size, older coat with approximately 20% molt, female belly and
two red tags.
Between 3BS and SRI was Sub-adult Female 2: smaller sub-adult size, old coat with some green female belly and unsure about tags.
Near SRI was an Adult Male: adult size, old coat with lots of green on ventral, at least one red tag and scar on right rear side. This might be RK24 Bruno, but Marilyn couldn't be sure.

Team R&B arrived at pokai and once again did not see Kala. They stayed for a bit and studied the water and they spotted the dynamic duo. RH48 Lei Ola and R3CX Nalu foraging. At one point Nalu lost sight of Lei Ola and frantically searched around. Finally finding her he literally pooped with excitement
and made it over to her in top speed.
As Team R&B were walking away they noticed a seal below. They were thrilled to see it was RH76 Kala. She seemed very alert. They left the area and saw from afar that she was taking off. She headed out in a westerly direction moving fast.

From afar they saw a seal at tracks. It was the molting male RP28 Wakea. He had lots of visitors today. Then Team R&B noticed there was something going on above. There were police, EMS and HFD, that took one of the homeless guys.

At the outfall they spotted a seal foraging. They watched from afar, there were lots of folks in the water. They couldn't make an ID other than it appeared to be an adult, so it was reported as an Unknown Adult.
When they were leaving they saw something you don't see everyday. It seems a hen was sitting on the windshield of the lifeguards trucks and she laid an egg.  Oh the things they see!!

Lastly at Makaha they saw a seal on shore. They went to the area and went down but the area was all fenced off. They walked around the other way and could only see it was an Adult Male, two tags. They just couldn't say which male.
