Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:21 to 1:48 pm, there was rain on and off so she didn't stay long. There were six seals seen during that time:
The three weaners were at various places on the Lanikai side of LPB. One weaner was clear at the back near the cliff face, two others were further towards the water. Marilyn thinks the one near the cliff was PO5/RV70 male. The other two PO4/RV68 male and PO3/RV50 female were nearer the water.
On the 1BS side of LPB were RM26 Nohea and her pup PO10. They snoozed for a while. Then the pup decided to go closer and then into the water when it got swept by the waves and moved in the Lanikai direction. Then RM26 came down to the pup and they ultimately had a nice reunion.
Out near the RRB channel was Juvenile Female. Marilyn is not sure if this was RU38 or RU70.
Team R&B started their day checking a couple of the beaches. Since they didn't find any seals they headed over to the pup site. Day two with RH58 Rocky and PO11 there is still no fencing up. A lifeguard offered to set up a 150 foot fencing area, but HMAER said no they would take care of it on Monday. (tomorrow). I really wonder why that is, or why they wouldn't provide some reasoning.
Team R&B did their best to educate, and watch over this beautiful little pup. Team R&B feel really uneasy about the fence situation.
They saw some nursing, a siesta and then the waves kept coming and the pup got tumbled down from mom. It was scary, traumatic towatch. Mom barked at the pup as if to say get over here. Another monster wave came and they couldn't see the pup. Then slowly but surely the pup made its way back up to mom.
Mom galumphed higher up so that made them both visible to all and peobably a little safer from the waves.
