November 22, 2024 Saturday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:07 to 2:03 pm and there were three seals seen during that time.
When Marilyn first started viewing and Adult Male had recently hauled up between 1BS and 2BS. A short time later a Sub-adult Male hauled out and muzzled the AM several times. Shortly thereafter they both left and then at 12:35 pm they hauled out again on the 1BS side of LPB.
The A/M was adult size, newer coat, two red tags and medium gray male belly.
The S/M was sub-adult to adult size, newer coat, mottled gray male belly no apparent tags. Marilyn wondered if this was TempN25 with the mottled ventral.
At 1:33 pm a Juvenile Female came down from the dunes and moved behind the AM and SM and towards the LPB surge channel, where she went into snooze mode. Marilyn was not aware of the JF in the dunes before she moved. The J/F was weaner to juvenile size, older coat, yellow female belly and two red tags.

Team R&B's first find were two seals together. There was RP28 Wakea and weaner RU12. RP28 was really interested in her and followed her on the rocks to the ponds. Typical four year old male. She being a youngen didn't want him by her, she galumphed away, but he kept at it and then she just gave in. There were lots of snorts.

Next they spotted RM31 Kai foraging out in the bay. Later in the day he hauled out in the afternoon.
They also saw RH48 Lei Ola foraging. They never saw her land today.
The third seal seen foraging was RL20 Kalua. Later in the day he also hauled out.

Team R&B made the trip over to white plains where they saw a seal on shore. They ID'd KG89 Huaka'i who was relaxing in a zone that was set up for her.

Next they headed over to Nimitz. There was R407 Kawika who has been out there molting, that is finally finished. Now he is out there laying between the poles and all the fans.

They went back to where they started their day and found a group of three seals. There was RP28 Wakea, RU12 and RU04 hiding in the pond.
RM31 and RL20 were still out on the rocks.

Last but not least on their last stop they were thrilled to find RU40 on shore. She was heading up to settle in for the night.
