Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:35 to 2:36 pm and there were ultimately six seals seen during that time.
Initially alone on LPB was Adult Male 1: large adult size, old coat with lots of green, yellowish brown male belly and unsure about tags.
At 1:10 pm, Marilyn noticed that a Juvenile Male had joined AM1. She didn't know if the JM had just hauled out or if it had been hidden in the depression on the beach. The JM was juvenile size, new coat, light male belly, not sure about tags.
Initially near 3BS were two seals:
Adult Female: robust adult size, gray female belly, two red tags and scar on lower neck upper chest.
Nearby was Adult Male 2: smaller adult size, old coat with lots of green, male belly and two red tags.
At 1:16 pm another seal joined the AF and AM2. The newcomer was a Sub-adult Female: sub-adult size, older coat, yellowish brown female belly and at least one red tag.
RQ44 Mahina was between 3BS and SRI: sub-adult size, new coat, three red tags and light female belly. She moved up and down the beach several times.
On the outer crater rim, Marilyn spotted the second Masked Booby chick for 2025. She had seen the nearby adult seeming to next for several months. It will be fun to watch the chick develop.
As Team R&B arrived at pokai, a man passed them and was very excited, letting them know there was a seal out there. So they made it to the area and at first didn't see anything. But then they found RH76 Kala in a different spot than usual. She was alone and snoozing peacefully.
When they checked again in the afternoon she was gone and the tide was high.
Over on the ocean side they spotted RH48 Lei Ola foraging. Far from her was R3CX Nalu once again getting the cold flipper from Miss Lei Ola.
Later in the day Nalu R3CX made it out to Makaha again. He must have given up on Lei Ola and headed off to land and get some rest.
Out in the waters they saw the dolphins just going bananas and having fun. The young dolphin had a big ramora stuck to her neck. She kept jumping as if to try and get it off, poor thing.
Over at the outfall they watched multiple seals foraging. They were going in and out of the outfall. Team R&B ID'd RL08, RL12 Aukai and RL20 Kalua.
Team R&B spotted RH32 Kaale hauling up on shore at tracks. There were several folks/fans that ran over to take photos Then they saw a second seal trying to haul out. Kaale went into the water to greet the second seal. They aren't sure who the seal is but think it might be RL20 with his clean coat. Both seals settled in for a nap.
Lastly while sitting in traffic they spotted a seal on shore at another west side location. They pulled over and found RP28 Wakea sleeping in peace.
Team R&B noted that this area is where R912 used to frequent years ago. NOAA used to coordinate and "chase" her out of the area as she would head up the canal to forage.
