Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 1:15 to 3:00 and only the weaners were present on island.
Weaner A (probably RS34) was on the rock flats Lanikai side of LPB.
Weaner B (probably RS12) was initially among the waterfront rocks between 1BS and 2BS. she entered the water about 2:35 and at 2:57 hauled out to join Weaner A on the rock flats Lanikai side of LPB.
Team R&B made their first stop today to check on RH48 Lei Ola. She is really going to pieces about60% of her molt. It is amazing how awful they look through this process.
Then they spotted a seal on shore. They went over to check and there was RW02 PvKauai, who hasn't been around a lot these days. There were lots of folks on the beach, some people had dogs, thankfully on leash. RW02 just laid on the beach resting.
At another west side location they found four seals! There was Mr. Kalua RL20 resting on high rocks to the left. Next was the lovely Kala RH76 was with RM31 Kai at the inlet.
While on side they went over to waterfront rocks and discovered another seal. This is the "new" male they met last week R416 aka Makalii named for his "sheriff badge" shaped scar.
He is quite the cutie, underbelly has a cc scar and a bigger "unique" scar. He has a cc scar on his left for flipper, no tags. He also has a NB spot on his right ankle area.
